Read The HVAC Advice That Should Not Be Missed

TIP! Clean your fan and coils when the weather begins to warm. Turn off the power if you are going to work on your HVAC system.

A poor quality HVAC can cause you a lot of issues. They can be costly to repair and can lead to miserable living conditions. Therefore, it is important to know how to maintain your system, and what to do if you need to replace or repair it.

TIP! If the outside of your home has condenser units, ensure they are constantly cleaned. After a wind or rain storm things may pile up, causing problems with your HVAC system.

Every spring you should clean the coils and fan blades on your condenser fan. Turn it off first so you don’t get hurt or break something. Then you need to get the grill popped off and get the blades out so you can clean them and your unit gently.

Grass Clippings

TIP! If the fan condenser on your unit has ports for oil, make sure you lubricate it once a year. You will notice these ports have a rubber or metal cap covering them.

Avoid showering your outdoor unit with grass clippings when you mow the lawn. Now so the grass clippings are shot away from your unit. Do the same when blowing snow or leaves.

TIP! When choosing the area for placing an outdoor compressor device, place it in a shady area. When the unit sucks in cooler air, then less work is required to cool it further which in turn boosts the units efficiency.

If you are choosing where to place your outdoor compressor device, try to put it in a place where there is plenty of shade. When your unit is bringing in cool air, it will not have to work as hard to cool the air as it moves it inside, boosting efficiency.

TIP! To increase the efficiency of your HVAC unit, be sure to keep it in the shade. As your air conditioner sucks in cool air, little will have to be done to cool it any further, saving you a ton on your energy bills.

You can boost the efficiency of your HVAC unit by replacing it with a new energy efficient one or moving your old one to a shady outside location. The unit will have to do less work cooling this air.

TIP! Be sure you have the HVAC unit in your home checked about two times every year. Checks in the spring as well as in autumn are the best.

Have a smart thermostat installed. A programmable thermostat can save you up to ten percent on your cooling and heating costs by simply turning the thermostat back ten to fifteen percent for eight hours a day. You can often control it from your mobile phone!

Hvac System

TIP! If the house is yours or you’re permitted to, replace the windows that are single pane with windows that are double pane. Try to insulate your windows to prevent air from being lost.

The HVAC in your house is a vital part of your daily life whether you know it or not. Without proper maintenance of your HVAC system, your home will not be a comfortable place to be. Don’t let this happen, remember the tips here to ensure that the HVAC system is giving you the right kind of air.
