Going away to college is exciting, stressful and scary all at the same time. This article may be able to help you find out how to go about the college experience.
At school, keep a water bottle close. It is important to stay hydrated throughout the day. When you aren’t going to be able to eat between classes, this is even more important. When you are properly hydrated, it is easier to focus more clearly on your work and remain productive. You can refill water bottles at many different water fountains.
Leave no stone unturned when looking for financial assistance. There are many different scholarships related to different areas of study or designed for certain students. You will also find a lot of state and federal grants.
Get enough rest. Many college students get little, if any, sleep between late night parties, classes and homework. If you do not get enough sleep, you will have a hard time concentrating and will not get the most from your classes.
Get at least one of your general educational requirements done in the first semester. If there is one course that is especially daunting, take it as a freshman so that you don’t have to dread it throughout your college career. Moreover, in four years you don’t want to find yourself the sole senior in a classroom of only freshmen.
Get a bus pass. Often times, the time it takes to ride the bus is about the same as it would be to drive there. There are limited parking spaces available on most campuses. You won’t have to spend money on parking and fuel. This is good for the environment.
When you’re done, you’ll be so proud! Use the advice you just read, as well as following advice from people who love you and who have already been through college. Although it may seem like a long, drawn-out process, it’ll be worth the effort when you finally graduate.
