College shouldn’t just be the next step after high school. It’s going to be something completely different and it’s where you’ll make huge life decisions. You must plan everything and be prepared for whatever you encounter.
Organize all of the essential materials for college before you begin. You should make sure you have everything you need so you do not have to continually ask your parents to help. This is especially something to do if your classes aren’t that close to home.
Many students find that it is handy to include a water bottle in their school supplies. Staying hydrated is an important but often-overlooked task. If you have a full schedule and have to skip meals, you should at least make sure you get enough water. When you are properly hydrated, it is easier to focus more clearly on your work and remain productive. Lots of water fountains allow for quick refills.
You should always eat healthy, even when you are at college. Gaining the “freshman 15” isn’t a myth! Try to remain aware of the foods you are consuming regularly. Keep yourself from gorging on convenience foods like burgers and pizza. But fast food can quickly add up to extra pounds and extra money spent.
Join many activities to stay very social in college. If you do a lot of activities, you will be able to use them on your resume. However make sure to only take on what you can maintain on top of your school work.
No matter who you are, try using the campus gym. This lets you meet other people and exercise, too. You can make friends to go to the gym with, and broaden your social circle.
You should now know a little more about the college experience. Having an understanding of what it means to be in college will help you have a successful transition.
