If you are finding it difficult to be academically successful, find out if your college offers a course to help you with your study skills. A lot of students think that their high grades with little effort from high school will carry over and might not know how they should study for college classes. TIP! Don’t overestimate your abilities when planning out your schedule. Don’t set yourself up for failure by taking early morning classes that you already know you will never make it to.

Check out all the grants and scholarships that your school provides so that you can have some help in paying for your education. Many people do not realize there are many scholarships for unique characteristics including a scholarship specifically available to people who are left handed. Show up to exams prepared with the proper supplies. Forgetting things such as a calculator during a big math test could place you at a big disadvantage. Teachers will not always have extras, so don’t forget to bring your supplies to class.

TIP! Do not take a test without first preparing all the materials you are going to need. If you forget necessities, you might feel nervous and not do as well.

Be sure to get plenty of rest. Many college students get little, if any, sleep between late night parties, classes and homework. When you are deprived of sleep, you may become grouchy and tired, which can put a damper on your enjoyment of the college experience.

TIP! Eat breakfast every day! Small meals comprised of fruit or yogurt can make a big difference. Feeling hungry might keep you from performing well on a test.
