The HVAC is something that many people want to understand, but they believe it is too difficult to tackle. You shouldn’t let this hold you back, though. This guide is going to give you some awesome advice to go along with that will allow this to be easy for you!
Before an HVAC expert comes to your home to do any repair work, walk around the home and check out the temps in every room. Figure out which rooms are hot and cold. This will allow a contractor to quickly figure out what the issue is and how it can be fixed fast.
Cleaning the blades and coils will help the system run better. If you are doing more than a light surface cleaning, make sure that the power is shut off to the HVAC unit. Clean the outside of your condenser unit regularly.
Outdoor condenser units need to be cleaned regularly. Particularly after bad weather, you should inspect your unit. This can lead to overheating.
The coils and blades on the fans should be cleaned once a year. First, turn off the power so that nothing will move as you are working on it. Remove the grill and carefully clean the blades and surrounding areas.
If there are oil ports on your fan condenser, lubricate it annually. You will notice these ports have a rubber or metal cap covering them. Put 10 drops of lightweight, non-detergent SAE oil in each port. Be careful not to use too much.
Make sure your HVAC systems is checked twice a year. Check into it twice a year before you head into the hot and cold months. Even if you do not detect a problem, you can identify and fix any potential problems when you have it checked.
HVAC can become simple of you use the tips found above. Without these tips, the subject is much more difficult. Good luck, you’ll do fine!
