The Michelin Krylion two Endurance is a brand new mid-range tire that’s positioned beneath the Michelin Power scope and over the Michelin Lithion 2. The Krylion 2 includes a 3×110 TPI casing, double compound rubber optimized for extended life while still providing good wet cornering grip, along with an HD puncture protection belt which runs from bead to bead that signifies the sidewalls have security too.
After getting the Krylion two Endurance and scrutinizing the packing and tire a little better, it got to me this scooter looks an awful lot like the elderly Michelin Pro 4 Endurance (read review). The Guru 4 Endurance also offers the specific same specs: 3×110 TPI, double compound, bead to bead security, and the weight that is specified is exactly the exact same too. It might very well be the Krylion two Endurance is a rebranded Guru 4 Endurance at the surface of the lineup Michelin Pro 4 scope was replaced with the Michelin Power range.
The Guru 4 Endurance is one of my favourite tires since it is one of those few street bike tires which includes reinforced sidewalls while still giving a nice rolling resistance. Let us run some tests and see whether the Krylion two comes near the Guru 4 Endurance.

The given weight of this 700x25C edition of this Krylion two is 245 g; my sample is somewhat heavier and comes in at 261 g. The measured diameter, in an air pressure of 100 psi / 6.9 pubs is 27 mm. The measured height is 25 mm. Both dimensions come in fairly near the Guru 4 Endurance that came in at 28 mm wide and a height of 25 mm.
The entire depth of the scooter in the middle of this tread is 3.0 mm. The sidewalls have a depth of 0.85 mm. Both these dimensions are great since most all-purpose tires have a tread depth of 2.5 – 3.0 mm and a sidewall depth of 0.5 – 0.6 mm.
Maximum enabled air pressure as indicated on the sidewall is 109 psi. I’d take measurements at 120 psi to maintain all outcomes consistent throughout the website.
Rolling resistance is very great for a mid sized scooter with reinforced sidewalls. In the high air pressure of 120 psi / 8.3 pubs, rolling resistance comes in at 15.4 watts that is 1.2 watts over the Guru 4 Endurance (read review). At lower air pressures, the gap between the Guru 4 Endurance and Krylion two Endurance climbs to 1.9 g at 60 psi / 4.1 pubs (see graphs below).
From the puncture resistance evaluations, the Krylion 2 Endurance scores 1 points significantly less from relation to the tread and sidewall evaluations. A score of 14 points at the tread puncture evaluation remains better than the vast majority of those (all-round) street bike tires which come in at 12-13 points. From the sidewall puncture evaluation, the Krylion 2 scores 7 points that’s a fantastic score since most tires with no reinforced sidewalls come in closer to 5 factors in this evaluation.
It is fairly apparent to me that the Michelin Krylion two Endurance is a rebadged Michelin Pro 4 Endurance (read review) since the specifications of these two tires are the exact same. Rolling resistance and puncture resistance of this Krylion 2 is somewhat worse than the Pro 4, but that might well be a blend of margins of their evaluations and production tolerances. The Guru 4 Endurance was a fantastic tire so I am sure there’ll be plenty of people who are happy they could change to the Krylion two when inventory of the Guru 4 Endurance runs outside.
When we compare the Krylion two to other midsize tires, it is a fantastic option if you’re searching for a powerful tire for a affordable price.
