Does college strike fear in your heart? Do you find yourself feeling completely lost about the next steps? If you find college to be a daunting prospect, you have lots of company. Beginning college is opening a whole new door to a different chapter in your life. Keep reading to find out how to make college less stressful.
Be mindful of your diet. There is no myth behind the freshman 15. So keep healthy snacks on hand to avoid this. Fast food, pizza and alcohol can really add to your waistline. Although they may seem like a quick, cheap meal, the calories add up and you will not get enough nutrients for a sustainable energy level.
Check out all the grants and scholarships that your school provides so that you can have some help in paying for your education. A lot of people do not think about the extra help they can get! Also look into the different federal aid programs there are.
Learn your schedule and the location of each of your classes. Figure out how long walking will take between classes. Also locate other important places that you will be using a lot and mark them on your map.
Be sure to eat a healthy breakfast on test days. A fruit, a yogurt and some toast is all you need to remain focused. Your brain cannot function as well on an empty stomach and its growling will distract you from your exam. If you are not energized and are feeling hungry, you may not do as well on the test.
You should have fun while in college. Not only will it teach you about your future vocation, but it will also teach you a lot about yourself. Follow the advice here, and you can make the most of your college years.
