Great College Advice To Make Great Strides

TIP! Be sure you have enough toiletries with you when going to college. You’ll go through these toiletries pretty fast through regular use.

College is more than just the transition from high school to another school. Actually, college life is different in nearly every way. The decisions you make will impact you throughout the rest of your life. Pay attention to everything when you plan, and work with your family to be sure you are prepared when the time comes.

TIP! Be realistic when planning to work while in college. Avoid taking classes too early in the morning if you are unable to follow a strict schedule.

Make sure to bring enough soap, shampoo, deodorant and any other toiletries you need. These items are important and tend to run out quickly due to frequent use. Consider buying in bulk as a means to save money.

TIP! If you wish to get the most out of studying, it’s important to do it in the right environment. As far as locations go, a dorm room probably won’t be your best bet.

Create a list of items that you are going to need to bring along to college. Being well prepared will allow you to be as self sufficient as possible. You might not be able to get things from your parents if you are going to school far away from home.

TIP! You should involve yourself with on campus activities. When you engage in activities, you’ll hone your interests while having fun.

Carry a personal water bottle to school. Staying hydrated is an important but often-overlooked task. If you have little or no downtime between classes, this is an absolute must. Drinking water will also keep your brain focused. Look for a water fountain to refill your water bottle as necessary.

TIP! How well you do in class can even be influenced by where you sit. Rather than going to class late, and sitting in the back unnoticed, get to class on time and sit at the front.

Check if there is a study skills class available. Students that do well in high school might be surprised by the work they are given in college. Study skills classes teach the skills necessary to do well in college.

TIP! If you are preparing for an exam, always eat a healthy breakfast. Grab fruit and yogurt to be eaten on the go if you must.

Remember to keep eating healthy. The freshman 15 isn’t an exaggeration. Take great care in monitoring your eating. Stay away from fast food as much as you can. But fast food can quickly add up to extra pounds and extra money spent.

TIP! Take at least one general ed requirement your first semester and get it out of the way. When there is a class you need in order to graduate, it is best to take it sooner rather than later.
